✨ Why We Started The Nesavu
A journey stitched with love, belief, and the joy of celebrating childhood.
🧶 From Fabric to Future Where It All Began
Some stories don’t start with a business plan. They start at home-with a feeling, a memory, a moment that changes everything.
For us, that moment came in 2015.
But really, the threads were woven long before.
🧒🏽 1990s Born Into the World of Textiles
-
Balajee grew up in Coimbatore, often found sketching after school while the family’s textile business buzzed around him.
-
Uma grew up in Vembadithalam-a small weaving village, where yarns and looms were part of daily life.
Even back then, textiles weren’t just around us.
They were part of us.
📚 2005–2008 Choosing a Different Path
-
Uma pursued her Diploma in Textile Technology-breaking the norm, choosing passion over predictability.
-
Balajee studied Designing and Weaving.
Two different journeys, one shared direction a deep-rooted love for fabric and form.
❤️ 2008–2011 When Paths Crossed
We met as classmates at PSG College of Technology.
He brought creativity. She brought clarity.
A shared love for textiles became the beginning of everything-friendship, love, and a future vision.
💍 23 May 2012 Tied by Threads and Dreams
We got married.
And while life moved forward, one dream quietly lingered
“One day, let’s build something meaningful together.”
👶 25 July 2015 The Moment That Changed Everything
Our son, Danvanth, was born.
Nine days later came his naming ceremony. We needed something traditional. Soft. Festive.
But we found… nothing.
Despite working in fashion, the market had no
-
Ready-to-wear traditional outfits for newborns
-
Soft fabrics for delicate skin
-
Hassle-free options for new parents
So we stitched something ourselves-exhausted, but determined.
And quietly, a seed was planted
“There has to be a better way for parents like us.”
🌱 2017 The Seed Becomes a Name
We called it The Nesavu-which means “weaving” in Tamil.
We registered the brand. Bought the domain.
Still working full-time. Still saving every rupee.
Still believing.
📊 2018 Research Confirms the Need
Our hunch was right-Indian parents were
-
Compromising on quality
-
Rushing through last-minute tailoring
-
Settling for outdated styles and poor fits
We decided we’re going to change that.
🚀 31 December 2019 First Drop, First Win
Our 12-piece capsule collection debuted at the CODISSIA Expo in Coimbatore.
It sold out.
Strangers became customers. Customers became believers.
🌟 2020 Recognition… and a Challenge
-
We showcased our full line at Miniroo Expo.

But just as things took off, COVID hit.
New warehouse. Frozen inventory. Mounting bills.
But we didn’t give up.

Celebrate every single order like it’s our first
Because at The Nesavu, it’s not just business.
It’s heart work.
🧵 The Final Stitch
We didn’t start The Nesavu to build a brand.
We started it because we faced a problem-and knew thousands of other parents were facing it too.
Today, our mission is simple
To make celebrations easier, more joyful, and filled with meaning.
One thoughtfully designed outfit at a time.
